Your Next Destination? A Mental Vacation

When was the last time you took a vacation? It has probably been a long time. And you may be waiting for an opportunity to travel again. What about a mental vacation? Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone?

Lately, you have been going through the motions. Checking those adulting boxes. Sleep. Eat. Work. Repeat.

But what about the other stuff? What about the parts that really matter?

The parts that bring butterflies to your stomach and color to your cheeks. The curious and joyful parts that as a child, you never thought you would live without? The parts that have been pushed down so deep that you forgot existed?

You’ve been on autopilot and you give too much, say yes too much. You are hard on yourself. You may even have a hard time setting boundaries. You have been playing the role of the adult and you are BURNT OUT AND NEED TO RECHARGE.

It’s time to find a reason to get up in the morning that is more about fun than function. It is time for a mental vacation.

Pack your bags, we are going on a ride!

5 Destinations for your Mental Vacation:

  1. Your bed. Sleep in. Drink your coffee. Watch a movie. Read. Meditate. Notice what it feels like to not be in action.

  2. Your closet. Choose one thing in your wardrobe that you have always wanted to wear but it felt too bold/sexy/bright and put it on. Be that type of person who wears platforms to breakfast.

  3. Your bucket list. Think of one thing you have always wanted to do, or a place you want to visit and just go for it. Connect with that childhood dream. Imagine it’s the end of your life and you never had a chance to…

  4. Your sense of humor. Laugh. And laugh again. Phone your funny friend, watch Saturday Night Live skits from the 90’s, hang out with your kids. learn some new jokes. Perform standup.

  5. Your journal. Put your pen to paper and notice what comes up. What are you manifesting? What’s working? What’s not? What changes do you want to see in your life?

It’s time to get off the burnout train and hop on the possibilities express.

What are you waiting for?
