September Challenge: Celebrate Summer Wins and Bring that Feeling into Fall!
Honor your summer!
What would it take to keep that celebratory summer vibe going all year long? I’m not talking about a promotion or a new home (although if that happened, please pop the champagne!), I am talking about the experiences you created for yourself and your loved ones. The love, the laughter and all tender moments in between.
What were your highlights? Have you fully savored those magical moments? Think about the sights and sounds and smells of those experiences. Close your eyes. Breathe it in. Warm evenings, crashing waves, late nights, lazy mornings, family, no family, sweat, smiles, siestas, sun, sand, and dirt. It doesn’t matter if you vacayed or stay-cayed, what matters is treasuring those moments, acknowledging what it took to get you there, who you had to be, what you had to let go of to be present. Take a moment to honor those who were there with you on that journey.
Ahhhhhh. Better, no? Now here is the million dollar question:
HOW DO YOU BRING THAT FEELING INTO FALL?
WRITE DOWN YOUR TOP FIVE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SUMMER. GO. DO IT. NOW. 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5. Put the list on your fridge, bulletin board, have a t-shirt made! Whatever it takes to remind you of the things you love and what lights you up!
REFLECT ON YOUR VALUES. What values were you honoring in those moments and how can they be recreated? For me, summer is about new experiences, adventure, nature, family, connection, wellness and personal growth. So that means mixing it up, trying new things, meaningful conversations and leaning into this thing called life. When those things aren’t present I feel misaligned, anxious, stressed.
TAKE ACTION. What experiences can you create that mimic your top highlights? Maybe it’s a drink with a friend, a morning hike, a Sunday drive, a kitchen dance party. Write it down and make a plan. Set some personal goals and finds someone to hold you accountable.
So what is on my post summer agenda? This month it’s about getting out and going to bad ass women lead conferences (Create and Cultivate, whoo whoo!) which fuels my love for connection and learning.
October will be about spiritual and creative endeavors , saying yes to beauty and peace.
November’s forecast calls for exploring the lands and foraging for the finer things, maybe visiting a new winery or hosting a dinner party. I love mixing up my routine!
And on those days when nothing is planned, the weather sucks, and the stress is high? A summer playlist to remind me of the good times! Bring on the reggae!
So what are you waiting for? Get out of your head and into your life.
